Freedoms of assembly and expression: Hundreds of participants to GK3
int'l forum denounce Malaysia

Malaysia is currently the host to a major international conference. The
Global Knowledge 3 Forum, also known as GK3, has pledged its commitment
to knowledge sharing, an open exchange of information and to building a
just and fair society. More than "2,000 global visionaries, innovators,
practitioners and policy makers" have made their way to Kuala Lumpur
between December 11 to 13 to work on achieving these goals.

But as the forum is coming to a close, 10% of participants are pointing
their finger at Malaysia. They are saying that since the beginning of
November, the freedoms of assembly and expression have come under
increased attack in Malaysia. To denounce this situation, participants
to the GK3 forum have sent an open letter to the Prime Minister of
Malaysia on Wednesday, December 12.
