[Pal-dc] Future Library initiative in Greece

Ioannis, thank you, that is very interesting.
This could be a model for a systematic and strategic way of transforming the public library landscape in the whole country, beginning with a study, focusing on training, innovation, networking, knowledge exchange, to make public libraries a hub for social and economic change and support to the community. We saw already from US statistics that in times of social hardship public libraries can be a tremendous resource for the citizens. We have yet to convince policy makers in developing countries of the value of public libraries to improving livelihoods.
Congratulations on convincing the Niarchos Foundation to invest in the modernisation of public libraries, to become a common good and useful utility for all Greek citizens.
I am sure we can all learn from the FutureLibrary initiative, please keep us posted.
