Hi All,

For those of you who are in DC. On Saturday & Sunday, November 17 & 18th
there will be a mini maker(un)faire at the MLK branch of the DC public
library <https://sites.google.com/site/dcminimakerunfaire/>.

It will emphasize *assistive technologies*. I'm hoping we'll see some
creative and concrete examples of how libraries can power community
development and
engagement<http://www.beyondaccess.net/2012/10/03/libraries-power-development-heres-how/>.

What does making and makerspaces have to do with libraries? Just ask Lauren
Britton<http://www.publiclibrariesonline.org/magazines/featured-articles/fabulous-labaratory-makerspace-fayetteville-free-library>:)

Cheers,

Christine
