Dear Colleagues

Following a successful IGF last week where public access was mentioned across a number of sessions, and libraries were discussed at length in workshops on access and copyright, I wanted to share with you the report drafted on the third meeting of the Dynamic Coalition on Public Access in Libraries. You can find it here: http://www.intgovforum.org/cms/documents/dynamic-coalitions/dynamic-coalition-on-public-access-in-libraries/248-dc-public-access-in-libraries-report-of-the-igf-2014-meeting/file

At the Taking Stock session a number of Dynamic Coalition convenors requested that the work of the DCs be more acknowledged by the IGF, and that DCs be considered as entities capable of contributing to ‘output’ from the IGF. The IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) will now consider this - I will communicate their decision in due course.

On a related matter, if your institution or organisation has not yet signed the Lyon Declaration on Access to Information and Development launched by IFLA at the World Library and Information Congress next month, please consider doing so immediately! www.lyondeclaration.org<http://www.lyondeclaration.org>

IFLA will communicate next steps for Lyon Declaration advocacy in the coming days.

Kind regards,

Stuart
