Thanks, Stephen / IFLA for great submissions to both High Level Panel & WISIS!

And yes, Mei Lin, great idea to foster local community discussions! Cooperation is the organizing principle of P4PA. Webinar (possibly a short series?) could be an excellent way to showcase the iFLA toolkit and highlight the various public access approaches and enabling policies/processes. Let’s put at top of next call agenda on 12/27.

P4PA.net might also consider an additional submission for HLPDC, building on to the IFLA case plus those from any other partner.

IFLA focuses, in its reply, on the need to engage with organisations such as libraries which are in a position to deliver on social policy goals, as well as to cooperate to find new ways of ensuring that the remaining 50% of the world’s population online has the possibility to connect.

We underline some evidence of greater awareness of the role of libraries as connectors and hotspots, but also concerns about laws and other government and commercial practices that make internet access costlier, riskier, and less attractive.
