I heard live coverage of Shirin Ebadi's arrival at Tehran airport, on the
BBC here In Australia, and it was an enormous thrill to hear the chanting of
such a vast crowd welcoming her home.

It's a great day for everyone fighting for human rights.

Subject: [WSIS CS-Plenary] breaking news-Mrs.Ebadi

Dear CS members

I should share this very exciting news with you now! as I just came back
form Tehran airport, tonight Mrs.Ebadi the Nobel peace winner has returned
to Tehran, the important point is thousands of people , maybe around
100,000(not kiding!!) came to Tehran airport on the western suburbs of
Tehran , by walking as police has close the main ways, they walk for a few
kilometers to meet her and chant for her victory , the Airport practically
close down and most the flights has been delayed or canceled as there was no
chance to reach airport or terminals because of crowd, thousand cars came to
airport, people with flower , mainly women came to celebrate this very
important event, under very tight security and obvious unhappiness amongst
officials, they chant " viva Ebadi, shame to Khatami" as a direct reply to
the miserable remarks by Khatami today that the Nobel peace prize its not
important issue! and its political prize! and she should be careful what she
is saying and this kind of non sense remarks. The atmospher here is
undescribeable and extrmely joyful and energetic.

The people here shown how much they respect human rights and freedom and
international attention.

Regards

Amir
