Today's new global realities have broadened the scope of the translation and interpreting professions. The challenges facing the international community are increasingly shaped by ethnicity, religion, human rights, the environment, public health - including AIDS, and other issues. As a result, there is an ever-increasing demand for competent translators and interpreters in the languages spoken in the Middle East, Africa, and elsewhere in Asia. Through this Conference, our goal is to create a lively and thoughtful discussion of the most dramatic changes the translation and interpreting professions have experienced in recent history.
Our first International Translation Conference generated enormous enthusiasm, throughout the globe, and triggered the planning of this second event. And it's no wonder. Global developments and realities of the last decade have transformed the nature of the translation profession.
Now, you are invited to participate in this important Conference. Academics, practicing translators, students, and a wide range of translation and interpreting consumers from the around the world will share insights, predictions, and professional solutions at this powerful event. Come explore - from a variety of perspectives - global security and its adjacent issues confronting translators and interpreters at this crucial time in history.
Plan to arrive one day early - on June 2 - to hone your skills at our hands-on language-specific workshops. From Arabic into English, Japanese into English, German into English, Spanish into English, Russian into English. Plus a valuable workshop on locationization.
Please respond by clicking either the Yes or No button at the bottom of the invitation!
Sincerely,
