INVITATION Youth Assembly: - “Youth Celebrating Democracy and Building
Future”


Dear Friends



You are invited to a Youth Assembly which is organised as part the Global
Campaign for Education – SA,  5th Annual Global Action Week 19- 25 April
2004 activities under the theme – Children Missing an Education. Over four
hundred young people many comprising of, and representing, street children,
unemployed and out of school youth, learners, child labour organisations,
child-headed families, and refugees are expected to attend the assembly
which attempts to give voice to youth views on the freedom decade and the
challenges ahead. In addition, it will consider the formation of a GCE-SA
Youth Forum, to campaign and track progress towards meeting the Education
for All Goals particularly as they relate to learners and youth more
generally.



Various organisations, including the Youth Commission, have been invited to
participate in debates and discussion with youth on this day. The Assembly
will take place on Saturday 24 April 2004 at the Johannesburg Municipal
Councillors Chambers (CIVIC CENTRE) Braamfontein. Gauteng. from 10 am – 3pm.
Cultural items will be rendered.



Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
