WACC URGE TO DROP THE LIBEL SUIT FILED AGAINST MS
KLANGNARONG
Concerned with freedom of speech and the strengthening
of democratic institutions in Thailand, WACC has sent
out the following letter to the Prime Minister's
offices, the Thai Rack Thai Party, the Human Rights
Commissioner for Thailand and the UN Special
Rapporteur on Human Rights in Geneva in order to
strongly urge the SHIN Corp. to drop the libel suit
filed against Ms Supinya Klangnarong, Secretary
General of the Campaign for Popular Media Reform. The
case will start up again on 6th September 2004 when
bail will be set.

plenario dentro del marco OURMedia IV en Porto Alegre,
Brasil, un mosaico de voces y puntos de vista
diferentes coincidieron en resaltan la importancia de
estos medios para democratizar la sociedad.

policy.” This topic was of particular interest to

phase of the World Summit on the Information Society
(WSIS).

Le Secrétariat International de l’Association mondiale
des radios diffuseurs communautaires a annoncé
aujourd’hui la diffusion mondiale de sa couverture du
premier Forum Social des Amériques (FSA) qui se
teindra à Quito en Équateur du 25 au 30 juillet. Ce
premier FSA aidera à préciser les propositions des
organisations de la société civile latino-américaine
en vue du Forum social mondial de Porto Alegre en 
Janvier 2005.

Quito Ecuador. Este Foro permitirá precisar las
propuestas de la sociedad civil latinoamericana en
preparación del Foro Social Mundial de Porto Alegre en
enero de 2005.

AMARC ANNOUNCES WORLD BROADCAST OF ITS COVERAGE OF THE
FIRST AMERICAS SOCIAL FORUM
The International Secretariat of the World Association
of Community Radio Broadcasters, AMARC announced today
the world broadcast of its coverage of the First
Americas Social Forum (ASF) to be held in Quito,
Ecuador, from July 25-30. This First Americas Social
Forum will help Latin American Civil Society
Organizations to specify their proposals for the World
Social Forum in Porto Alegre next January, 2005.
