BBC TO USE CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSE FOR BROADCAST MATERIAL
The BBC has announced that it plans to use Creative Commons licenses to open up its archive of broadcasting material. The broadcaster has decided to allow users to download, distribute and modify digital clips of BBC television programs through an initiative called the Creative Archive.

Los portales, cada uno adaptado a su manera a las exigencias particulares de cada país, utilizan todos software libre que permite se compartan contenidos en distintos idiomas y entre múltiples bases de datos informativas alojadas en distintas partes del mundo.

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA -- APC has spent the last two years advocating for civil society involvement in international ICT (information and communications technologies) policy-making processes. Now 10 APC members have created national ICT policy portal websites in their own countries in a joint initiative. The portals which are all uniquely adapted to address each country's particular situation all use free software that allows content-sharing in different languages and between multiple information databases hosted in different parts of the world.

UNESCO's WSIS Action Directory Launched
10-06-2004 (UNESCO) - UNESCO's WSIS Action Directory, an online platform providing access to information on UNESCO's contribution to the implementation of the Plan of Action adopted by the World Summit on the Information Society in December 2003 has now been launched.

NGLS upgrades website for WSIS Phase II
The UN Non Governmental Liaison Service has relaunched its website in preparation for the second phase of the Summit. Information is available in English, French and Spanish.

Results survey WSIS phase 1
The American University's School of International Service in Washington DC undertook earlier in the year a worldwide survey of all WSIS participants. If you have not taken part, you might want to check feedback from friends an foes. If you did participate, the results of the survey are now out.
