Dear all,

This is to inform and invite you all to participate in an online
discussion forum of Africa civil society to develop position papers on
various policy issues in preparation to the upcoming Africa regional
PrepCom for WSIS in Accra, Ghana later this month.

The discussion forum will cover three main areas of:

-  ICT Policy Priorities for Africa
-  Financial Mechanisms for ICTD
-  Internet Governance

The discussion forum will take place in the coming three weeks
(commencing today 5th till January the 26th January) with weekly
summaries on each of the areas discussed.

The final report will be presented in Accra during the Africa
civil society pre-event meeting to be held on the 28th February, an
agenda of the meeting will be posted to this list shortly.

The discussion forum will he held in both English and French with weekly
translations.

The final outputs will then form the basis for inputs/contributions by
Africa civil society during the official processes/thematic workshops
that will take place during the PrepCom in Accra.

Par ce message, nous voudrions vous inviter à participer à un débat
électronique de la société civile africaine, organisé dans le cadre de la
préparation de la conférence africaine du SMSI qui doit se tenir à Accra à
la fin de ce mois. Ce débat a pour objectif de conduire à la rédaction de
documents de propositions sur les divers enjeux en discussion.

La discussion couvrira trios sujets principaux :
- Les priorités en matière de politiques des TIC pour l’Afrique
- Les mécanismes de financement des TIC pour le développement
- La gouvernance de l’Internet

Le débat aura lieu durant les trois prochaines semaines. Il débutera ce 5
janvier et prendra fin le 26 janvier. Une synthèse hebdomadaire sera
réalisée et diffusée sur chaque thème.

Un rapport final sera présenté à Accra au cours d’une rencontre précédant
la conférence régionale que la société civile organise. Cette rencontre
aura lieu le 28 janvier. Le programme sera diffusé bientôt.

La discussion aura lieu en français et en anglais. Des traductions
hebdomadaires seront réalisées.

Les résultats constitueront la base de la contribution de la société
civile africaine lors des manifestations officielles (ateliers et autres)
organisées pendant la conférence préparatoire d’Accra.
