ICT SUPPORT FOR NGOs IN BRAAMFONTEIN
17 May 2005
Wits Club, Wits University
-----------------------------------------------------
SANGONeT, the Wits Computer School and Ungana-Afrika would like to invite
all NGOs based in Braamfontein and the greater Johannesburg CBD area to a
workshop on Tuesday, 17 May 2005, at the Wits University campus in
Braamfontein.
The aims of the workshop are to assess the ICT support needs and
requirements of the NGO sector (e.g. hardware and software maintenance,
training, planning, support, etc.) and to reflect on a proposed strategy to
support NGOs in this regard with the assistance of Wits computer science
students.
NGOs are invited to use this workshop to highlight their experiences and
expectations with ICT support, as well as to assist SANGONeT, the Wits
Computer School and Ungana-Afrika in developing a well-coordinated, relevant
and cost-effective ICT support strategy and service for the local NGO
community.
The intention is to utilise Wits computer science students during their
holidays to provide dedicated ICT support to NGOs in Braamfontein, and as a
result, make an important contribution to the work of the local NGO sector,
while at the same time providing the students with an opportunity to gain
practical experience.
The workshop will be held at the Wits Club, West Campus, Wits University
(09h00-13h00).
If you are interested in participating in this workshop, please contact
