COMMUNICATION RIGHTS ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK

A major publication of the CRIS campaign's CRAFT Project (Communication Rights Assessment Framework and Toolkit), originally known as the Global Governance Project, is now available for download. The project was funded by the Ford Foundation.

The Communication Rights Handbook, coordinated by Sean O'Siochru of the CRIS Campaign, will be officially launched during the second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society in Tunis in November.

The project's aim was to develop a framework and toolkit to support the emergence at national level of the concept of "communication rights", relating to local needs and dynamics but influenced by global processes. In each of four countries (Brazil, Colombia, Kenya and Philippines) and one region (European Union) the Framework has been applied in a participatory research process, and validated by workshops.
