Thank you very much for this link. For the United States of America, the result is dashes. Having seen this before, just asking if we can be assured this means no visa required? Have indeed seen this statement elsewhere. Any further information much appreciated as well, LDMF.

Subject: TR: [WSIS CS-Plenary] VISAS For Tunisia?
Dear all,
Information of which countries need a visa can be found (English) at: http://www.smsitunis2005.org/plateforme/visaen/index.php. Also I am attaching a list of Tunisian missions abroad, taken from this website.
Tunis does not have consular services in all countries. That's why visas will be issued upon arrival at the Tunisian airport. You will need to present your passport, and fill out a form (attached) together with the confirmation of registration letter that the ITU/WSIS has sent after the online registration to the Summit.
For those people who could not get their visa before and do not have a visa Schengen and will not have a direct flight to Tunis can use the confirmation of registration letter from the ITU as an official document. This letter has an ID number that will help to identify the individual as a Summit participant within customs authorities. Tunisian authorities have confirmed this and they will inform all authorities from airports (European airports in particular) about this possibility.
Regarding the question of obtaining a personal invitation letter from the Host Country, we have raised this question and they have confirmed to us that the confirmation of registration letter will be enough.
If you have further questions do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards

Chers tous,

Objet : RE: [WSIS CS-Plenary] VISAS For Tunisia?
Dear all,
I am dealing now with this issue of visas and had the following information regarding getting a visa upon arrival:
Or, if need be, upon their arrival in Tunisia . In this case, they should :
1.. have a passport valid all along the stay in Tunisia
2.. submit the letter of confirmation of registration in the second phase of the Summit
3.. fill in the visa application form and the boarding sheet , and send them, 15 days before their arrival in Tunisia , to the following address : visa at smsitunis2005.tn
The form and boarding sheet are in pdf format and I could not find out until date how to fill them out. Since they only give an e-mail address (no fax number even after I asked), I still don't know how or where to send it back 15 days before arrival.

We have had assurance - delivered twice and verbally by Mr Geiger that visas can be issued on arrival. This is a normal practise in Tunisia and will be especially so for WSIS. Since my first visit there in 1985, I have always got a visa on arrival. It can take 15 minutes because you need to leave the arrival area and get some local currency. However, since visas are free of charge for WSIS, the process will be easier - though there may be many people doing this so it is advisable to get a visa in advance if you can.
There is still no way around taking individual responsibility for travel.
