We aren't discussing parliamentarians in general, but CS speakers for  
the summit.

In that regard, the parliamentarians in question were not "elected"  
but DIRECTLY appointed by the president. Consequently, the people had  
NO choice in the matter.

 From a logistical point of view, I would ask all caucuses, working  
groups and regional groups to review their nominees and clearly  
indicate if any of their choices (or recommendations) have  govt and/ 
or parliamentary appointments.  If anything, I want to make the point  
that TRANSPARENCY is a core CS value. Any CS speakers proposed,  
nominated or even mentioned should clearly and fully disclose their  
associations . To not do so, or to hide affiliations , should  
disqualify them.
