 Greetings dear Colleagues and Friends.

It is great to read about you, meet this way, and continue networking.

The prospects and possibilities are splendid for the Global Alliance and
flourishing as we e-"speak."  We are deeply indebted to the organizers and
energisers, and pragmatically their kind and steady  sharing of this good
information.

Regarding the Alliance,  I would like to apply in a way I have been thinking
about for some time, starting with concepts of virtual WSIS, before Geneva.
Although I was able to attend Geneva and Tunis (I 2003 and II2005), it has
seemed to me and continues to be so that of all fora in our world, ours are
those where *communication can stand in for transportation* and often
should, most decorously, and answerable to our shared goals of connectivity
for all.

The elections captained by Avri were great, an opportunity through
Multistakeholder participation to all keep connected.  But generally there
is a shortfall on opportunities for older persons.  This is not
present-domain specific.  One sees it at the U.N. and elsewhere of course,
and sometimes it is inadvertent yet it is frontal.  I think we are right to
continue to appeal to Youth: they are so vitally important, a precious and
culturally sustaining Voice; I do so and am honored to do so through the
*Respectful Interfaces* Programme.  I think also it is generally agreed that
older persons have experience to share that as such or adapted can make for
some giant steps too.

As a woman in computing at least 45 years (IT, IS, ICT and who knows what
glories will develop! ) and participant at U.N. Headquarters in New York, I
hereby apply to a Committee on e-participation in the Global Alliance, upon
my nomination and recommendations prior:
