Many thanks for this invitation to a very interesting conference, dealing with issues which are in the very heart of our concerns in post- WSIS.
However, for us grassroot organisations in Europe and elsewhere, it is unaffordable to attend. Once again such an event is reserved to the Jet-Set NGOs. Let's hope that they won't forget they are still part of CS. And that there will be local/national grassroot organisations who participate actively and who will remind them their origin and duties.

Dear Members & Friends,
GKP is pleased to announce the 2nd GKP International Forum on Cross-Sector Partnerships on "Creating Prosperity through Innovation: ICT at Work in Development", to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 8-9 May 2006. More than 200 leaders from Business, Civil Society, Government, International Organisations and Academia will convene at the Forum to both share innovations in ICT for development (ICT4D) and explore new innovative partnership-based initiatives using information and communications technologies (ICT) to create prosperity.
Nearly 3 billion people on our planet live on less than $2 per day. Their hardship is not only economic; it often translates into a lack of education, unsafe drinking water and other unsanitary conditions, limited healthcare, and inadequate housing. The theme of this year's GKP International Forum, "Creating Prosperity through Innovation: ICT at Work in Development" refers to the multitude of novel ways ICT are being applied to improve this human condition.
Attached is the Forum flyer for your reference. Updates on the Forum Programme and Registration information will be available on 1 March 2006 at the Forum website http://www.globalknowledge.org/internationalforum/. For enquiries, please email forum2006 at globalknowledge.org.
We hope you will join us!
Warm regards,
