  Une charte pour « promouvoir la langue française aux Nations Unies » a été adoptée par le groupe des Ambassadeurs francophones auprès de l’ONU à l’issue d’une réunion le 20 juin au siège de la représentation permanente de l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie à New-York. Ce document énonce dix objectifs pour que le statut du français, deuxième langue de travail des Nations unies, avec l’anglais, soit respecté dans les faits, notamment pour que « toutes les documentations et publications soient systématiquement disponibles en français.

  Please find attached tonight’s version of the ECOSOC draft resolution of the CSTD review, after today’s lengthy.
  NGO observers, including WSIS accredited ones without ECOSOC consultative status were again today in the room and could took the floor on specific paragraphs (in particular on paragraphs related to multi-stakeholder approach and on mandate of the CSTD). 
  Today’s discussions illustrated the difficulties of the negotiations at this stage, in particular between G77 countries and the EU or the US, and specifically as regards the mandate of the reviewed CSTD and the conditions of the multi-stakeholder approach. Reporting activities also raised a lot of concerns from western delegations, but some progresses were achieved on this latest issue. OP 4 and OP 10 will be the most contentious issues for these up-coming days. 
  ECOSOC Chair Achani announced at the beginning of the meeting that he would hold a meeting with regional group coordinators tomorrow morning in order to establish the following steps. He intended to create some kind of moderation groups on most contentious issues. The informal consultations might however resume tomorrow afternoon under Janis Karklins’ facilitation.
