  Happy Mother's Day

On Mother's Day this year, we would like to share some recent successes in our work for women's leadership and empowerment.

Please take this opportunity to celebrate all mothers around the world, and the strength they bring to their families, communities, and societies.

Give a gift to WLP today in honor of the women who have made a difference in your life at: http://www.learningpartnership.org/donate.

In the last few months, the Women's Learning Partnership has trained hundreds of women in Leading to Choices participatory leadership workshops in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The following stories provide just a few examples of the ways in which workshops have empowered women to transform their families, communities, and societies.

Women in Cameroon Improve Family Relations

For women from Ako and Fundong, Cameroon, participating in a Leading to Choices leadership workshop created a space where they could build their self-confidence and practice communication and negotiation skills that would help them improve the quality of their family relationships. Women in Morocco Work Together Against Violence

WLP Morocco carried out leadership training to strengthen a nationwide network of centers working to end violence against women. Women anti-violence activists shared successful strategies and developed conflict management skills to support their work in the centers. Congolese Refugee Women Strengthen Community Networks

Congolese women's organizations from the Nyarugusu Refugee Settlement in Tanzania came together to develop common strategies for addressing the issue of early marriage in the community. By working together, they believed they could reduce the suffering of many young girls and their families. Read more at: http://www.learningpartnership.org/partners/zimbabwe/nyarugusu.
