The Global Internet Governance Academic Network (GigaNet) Symposium is one of the most significant pre-events associated with the Internet Governance Forum. This year, the program includes critical, independent analysis of institutions such as ICANN, country code top-level domain managers and the IGF itself. Some of the world’s most prominent IG scholars will analyze issues such as network neutrality and security governance and the convergence of social movements around Internet governance issues.
The GigaNet Symposium will be held from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm on Sunday, November 11 at the Versailles 1 Room in the Hotel Windsor Barra (the same hotel at the IG Forum). Attendance is free and open to all. Sponsors are GigaNet, the Mudra Institute of Communication Research, The Singapore Internet Research Centre, the Brazilian Internet Governance Steering Committee, and the Internet Governance Project.
