Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the election manifesto for the 

9th National Parliamentary Election 2008 of Major Political Parties in Bangladesh:



 

 

Bangladesh Awami League 

·        Stop corruption through computerization

·        Preserving government records and documents in computer

·        Promoting software and IT service industry through providing support to the young entrepreneurs 

·        Building digital Bangladesh by 2021

·        Making IT education compulsory in secondary level by 2013 and in primary level by 2021

·        Making IT Taskforce active and effective

·        Setting up High Tech Park, Software Technology Park, ICT Incubator and Computer Village

·        Administrative reform, ensuring information rights and start e-governance

·        Bringing all Upazilas under Internet connectivity

 

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)

  a.. Providing easy-access loan to the students for IT education 
  b.. Establish High Tech City at all cities or appropriate nearest areas 
  c.. Implementing preparatory initiatives to set up e-park or education park 
  d.. Giving priority to education and research on science and information technology 
  e..  Making telecommunication more available, user-friendly and extended 
  f.. Promoting investors in IT sector 
  g.. Extension and easy-access of Internet service in the whole country
 Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB)

  a.. Stamping out discrimination in IT facilities 
  b.. Spreading computer literacy 
  c.. Taking action against cyber monopoly 
  d.. Starting e-governance 
 Jatiya Party

  a.. Taking initiative for starting effective e-governance
 Jamaate Islami Bangladesh

  a.. Taking effective steps for the development, application and research on science and ICT 
  b.. Creating employment facilities in this sector 
  c.. Starting e-governance system for good governance
