(Sorry for the wrong hit that sent an uncomplete reply earlier on)
The MDGs can only be achieved if and only when the West accepts that the
world should be like that level playing field where all players can play the
game being guided by equitable rules. What do we see, a world where the West
promote election rigging (like what happened to Kenya) flagrant looting of
state funds (remember Mobutu's Zaire) egregious manipulation of
constitutions for personal and partisan gains (Chad and current attempt in
Cameroon), distruction of human lifes (problem of the Middle East).
There is apparent collusion in the loot by the West through acquiescance in
the safeguarding of the looted funds by kleptocrats from less developping
countries in their local banks. I understand that it is this very loot that
is being sent back to the less developping countries as aides et tutti
quantti. I missed Mr Blair at Davos when he made his trumpet sounding pledge
for Africa. The question I would have asked him (had he not left earlier
than expected) was whether Western leaders were ready to stand out to call
for looted treasury from developping countries to be returned back. The
reply to my question would have been obvious.
