How will autonomous robots and cyberwarfare change combat? Does internet
surveillance undermine the rules of espionage? How do we limit digital
censorship during war? What kinds of software can help victims in
war-torn countries?
What can socially-responsible computer professionals do? Join us for an
all-day conference and discussion focusing on these topics and more.
Speakers include Bruce Schneier (BT Counterpane), Barbara Simons (ACM),
Herb Lin (National Academy of Sciences), Cindy Cohn (Electronic Frontier
Foundation), Patrick Ball (Benetech), Terry Winograd (Stanford
University), Neil Rowe (Naval Defense Academy), Nick Mathewson (the Tor
project), Ronald Arkin (Georgia Tech's Mobile Robots Lab) and Noah
Shachtman (Wired magazine's war correspondent).
admission: Students $20 or free with work-exchange/Attendees $50-$100
