AMARC-WIN 16 Days Broadcast against Gender Violence 2009 continues!

Montreal, 8 December 2009. The 16 days of activism against gender 
violence continues with more contributions from our radio members 
worldwide.
The campaign is broadcast at www.amarc.org/16days

Community radio producers from Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, 
Europe, North America and Latin America and the Caribbean continue 
sending their programs to highlight the effort of women and men working 
to end the gender violence.

Radio stations around the globe are invited to download the audio files 
from the AMARC-WIN 16 day’s website and broadcast them in their radio 
stations during the 16 days campaign.

Original coverage of Montreal Massacre (1989)
Women's International News Gathering Service, On Dec. 6, 1989, 14 women 
engineering students were murdered in Montreal for being "feminists." 
Women in the community and across Canada mobilized in response, with 
repercussions lasting until today. Report by Laura Yaros and Beth 
Blackmore of CINQ-FM's Matrix program, with actualities. Originally 
aired in WINGS: Women's International News Gathering Service. Edited by

Domestic Violence still the hot issues
Radio magazine produced by Center for Justice and Reconciliation. This 
program was broadcasted through the two local radio stations (FM 93.5 
and FM104). Domestic Violence was regarded as hot issues in Khmer 
society the majority of victims are women. The Law on the prevention of 
Domestic Violence and the Protection of the Victims was adopted in 2005 
by national parliament. The program is review the result of domestic 
violence after almost 5 years of the law implementation and bring more 
attention to reduce the domestic violence in Khmer society.
