L'article dont le lien figure ci-dessous est une information qui doit nous interpeller, Africains et amis solidaires de l'Afrique.

Je ne suis pas un inconditionnel de la CNUCED mais elle a(vait) un potentiel de mettre en cause la pensée unique qui prévaut dans le SMSI en particulier, et pour cette raison je vous propose de réfléchir sur la pétition de l'ONG "Notre monde n'est pas à vendre".

 

Mais notre réaction ne doit pas se limiter à cette démarche : il faut que les représentants de l'Afrique -officiels et société civile- se manifestent lors du prochain Forum du SMSI à Genève pour marquer de vive voix leur désapprobation et leur protestation, y compris conttre le discours néolibéral des organisateurs du SMSI, UIT en tête ! Il est temps que l'Afrique fasse entendre sa voix et SES voix dans ce processus qui illusionne plus qu'il n'agit!

Dear friends of the lists :

 

Please read carefully this info from IPS related to (the threats toj the future of UNCTAD posed by industrialized countries.

I'm not an unconditional of UNCTAD but I feel that this UN body has the potential to raise arguments related to development face to the "Consensus of Washington" aligned multilateral and international bodies, mainly in the UN System, first of all the ITU in its neoliberal discourse that it imposes to the WSIS process sinc its very beginning.

Therfore I'd like to ask our African friends and also the friends in solidarity with Africa, to examine both the info of IPS and the statement made by the NGO "our World is not for sale" and to react accordingly.

Moreover I do hope that African representatives -both governments and NGOs- will express their reaction during the coming WSIS Forum in Geneva and let know the official organizers of this event, first of all the ITU, their profound disagreement about this threats to UNCTD and to the always prevailing neoliberal policy that these officials are promoting in tha WSIS follow-up process.
