Dear all,
Greetings from IREX in Washington, DC. We're happy to be part of this new dynamic coalition, and we're enthusiastic about the potential from including public libraries on the IGF's agenda.
Together with EIFL, IFLA, the Gates Foundation and a number of other partners, we've recently launched the Beyond Access campaign (www.beyondaccess.net<http://www.beyondaccess.net>) - which aims to promote libraries as partners in development. Beyond Access has just published its first report - on how libraries are contributing to the Millenium Development Goals. Featuring stories from different libraries around the world, the report emphasizes the role that libraries are already taking in helping to meet the Millennium Development Goals. Please have a look here:
http://www.beyondaccess.net/2012/03/09/report-how-public-libraries-contribute-towards-reaching-the-millennium-development-goals/
and share with your colleagues. We'd like to get this out as widely as possible and we welcome your feedback and ideas.
Thanks very much, and we're looking forward to working with everyone.
