Dear all,

first of all very best wishes for a happy 2013, for all of you and your families.

I would like to kick off new year communications by announcing that EIFL's Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) has launched its new award call - for library services that contribute to open government and e-government services - seehttp://www.eifl.net/eifl-plip-innovation-awards for details.

All public and community libraries in developing and transition countries are eligible to apply and we are accepting applications in French, English, Russian and Spanish. The prize is US$1,500 and the opportunity to showcase innovative library services internationally.

We would be really grateful if you would circulate this invitation to as many eligible libraries and librarians as possible. More and more governments are communicating and offering services online - and innovative library services can help people take advantage of these opportunities by providing free access to the internet, ICT training, information skills and other resources.

With warm regards,
and wishing you a great start to the new year,
Monika
