Hi,
With B. Oudet we speak about an European Union coordination of CS. Now you
speak about a European / North American family... I really not understand
what happens !

dear veni and hans

I wanted to get your thoughts on how we can more effectively organise and
represent european/nth american CS participants within WSIS structures and
processes.

You are both noted as contact points for the european/cis/na 'family' for
the Civil Society Bureau and as there are some important decisions bureau
members will be making on behalf of the interests of their consituency in
the coming weeks, though it would be a good idea if we could open a space
to discuss issues relevant to those of us active in WSIS in the region.

we talked in paris about the need to create a space for CS participants
interested in dialoguing with the EU - an important actor in the process -
and together with issues such as decisions about allocation of funds for
fellowships, representation in delegations who meet with the governmental
bureau, participation in negotiations in prepcomIII etc, i feel we need to
be more transparent about our work in the region..

is there a working space for members of the european/nth american family?
and if not, can we create one?

i'm ccing this to those who expressed interest in meeting informally with
the EU delegation in paris (which didn't materialise) as a start.. but no
doubt there are others who we should outreach to..

all the best
karen
