Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what's being suggested here (and it is
late here in Tokyo... forgive me!), but can we give one poor
journalist the names of 2 dozen or more people representing almost as
many (abused, ignored and angry) interests and expect him to be able
to make sense of it all?

Please build on the documents from last week's meeting, and the press
coverage we have seen since.

The secretariat (Gagne, others in Geneva) have been complaining about
the government's unwillingness to compromise, they admit things are a
mess. We should build on this -- WSIS is deeply flawed. That should
be issue one. (Writing declarations a day before heads of state will
sign! This is a joke and we should make clear it's a joke. This was
the multi-stakeholder summit, right?)

Last week we identified two areas of major concern: human rights and
the imbalance between north and south -- these are things we need to
push. On rights, explain the threat to universal rights, the lack of
due attention to Gender and people with disabilities (there's a news
story in each.) Internet governance will always be a hot issue,
ICANN's always been good press. But please let the caucus decide how
to respond on this. Last -- media need to step up, Steve's a great
choice for a first contact/article.

Think we need to focus a little or Alf will probably end up waving
his hands and wandering away.

Thanks,

Adam
