[WSIS CS-Plenary] FINAL SPEAKERS SUBMISSION

Dear all,

Below is the final proposal for speakers at the Summit as
submitted by the Content and Themes Working Group to the
secretariat. We expect a response from Mr. Itsumi early next
week. The secretariat has made it clear that the final decision
rests with them, but they have requested our recommendations.

We are well aware that this was an imperfect process, due to the
short time available to complete it, our own time limitations (we all
have full-time jobs!) and the difficulties of following so many lists.
But we have based our decisions and choices on the criteria
developed and consulted as widely as possible with the different
caucuses, and particularly the regional caucuses, in order to come
up with as balanced a list as possible, in terms of geographic
region, gender and areas of expertise, and (in the case of the
general debate) to maintain a special focus on the issues that civil
society has jointly identified as its main priorities.

I'd particularly like to thank all those who have contributed to the
very hard job of compiling and ordering the proposals received -
particularly Karen Banks and Bill McIver-.
