[WSIS CS-Plenary] Changes regarding the WGIG

Dear all,

We were just told that there might be some changes regarding the WGIG. 

Original schedule was:  14 February closed meeting, 15 and 16 February open
meeting (open to all stakeholders in the WSIS process) 17 and 18 February
closed meeting, in parallel with the PrepCom-2.

The new idea, which seems to be approved by the Chairman, Nitin Desai, is to
start on 14 February morning from 11.00 to 13.00 with an open meeting, and
have a closed meeting in the afternoon only. The morning would be used to
report about the progress etc. 

We therefore will not schedule a CSB meeting in the morning of the 14th, as
had been provisionally suggested following the CSB meeting in Cape Town. We
will consult on best timing and possibilities.

We will begin with a general orientation session on Monday 14th in the
afternoon from 14:00 -19:00 which will allow for breakout sessions of
Caucuses and WGs.  More detailed information will be sent out in the first
week of January, once we know more about available rooms and other
equipment.

On vient de nous annoncer que quelques modifications devraient survenir au
niveau du Groupe de travail sur la Gouvernance de l’Internet (WGIG).

 

Le programme était à l’origine le suivant : 14 février, réunion à huis clos
; 15 et 16 février, réunions ouvertes à toutes les parties prenantes aux
WSIS ; 17 et 18 février, réunion à huis clos, parallèlement à la tenue de la
PrepCom-2.

 

La nouvelle idée qui semble avoir été approuvée par le Président, Nitin
Desai, est de débuter le matin du 14 février de 11h00 à 13h00 par une
réunion ouverte, et de tenir une réunion à huis clos seulement l’après midi.
La réunion du matin serait ainsi consacrée au rapport concernant les
progrès, etc.

 

Par conséquent nous ne programmerons pas de réunion du Bureau de la Société
Civile au cours la matinée du 14 février, comme cela avait été
provisoirement suggéré à la suite de la réunion du Bureau tenue au Cap. Nous
nous consulterons aussitôt que possible.

 

Nous commencerons par une session d’orientation générale le lundi 14 février
entre 14h00 et 19h00, ce qui nous permettra des sessions pour les « caucus »
et groupes de travail. Des suppléments d’information vous seront envoyés au
cours de la première semaine de Janvier, une fois que nous en saurons plus
sur les salles et autres équipements disponibles.
