[WSIS CS-Plenary] coherence between the WIPO and WSIS processes?

George and others,

I must agree that there has been only scant reference to Patents,
Copyrights, Trademarks (PCT) as part of Internet Governance. That is the
agenda at WIPO, where developments are proceeding quite separately from
WSIS. Francis Muguet referred to the lack of coherence between the two
processes in his statement to the GFC. I also referred to it during the WSIS
session among CODATA scientists in Berlin last week,
http://www.codata.org/04conf/abstracts/WSIS/index.html

Thus the larger question emerges: if the WG on Internet Governance does not
deal with PCT, then who will ensure coherence between the WIPO and WSIS
processes?

BTW the OECD has also spoken on related issues.

Best,
Thomas Ruddy
