There is a reverse to this question too: to what extent may
the majority suppress the minority view? As far as I can tell,
the statement presented only gave one point of view and failed
to represent any others, even to say that they exist.
This is a real issue which workingmethods WG should address. One
of its participants, Vittorio Bertola, repeatedly suggests
dictatorship of the majority ("An initial proposal" points B2,
B5, C2, E7, January 2005) and failed to reply to a private
enquiry about it. On-list, things get inflamed by comments
about legitimacy.
I would really like to hear workingmethods plans on this list.
