Invitation to all participants at the World Summit on the Information
Society:

The Open Knowledge Network (OKN) would like to invite you to attend
the following session:

Learning from the Open Knowledge Network experience: grassroots local
content creation in Africa and South Asia
Friday 18 November, 12.00 – 13.30, Room 6

This session will be a report back and experience sharing session for
the Open Knowledge Network (OKN), presenting our activities and
learning, and inviting input from others involved in similar work. 
The session will include presentations from the OKN partner projects,
and will offer a space for sharing ideas on local content production
& dissemination, appropriate technology and media for information
sharing in development, gender issues, intellectual property rights,
project sustainability and language issues.

The new Open eNRICH software platform will be demonstrated, with
pre-release versions available for collaborating partners.  

Speakers will include: James Nguo (ALIN), Pete Cranston (OWIF), Itayi
Mtetwa (SAFIRE), Shaddy Shadrack (OWSA), Rabia Abdelkrim (ENDA
CyberPOP), Peter Benjamin (OKN Africa)

The OKN is now active in Kenya, India, Mali, Mozambique, Senegal, Sri
Lanka, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.  The OKN was launched at a
session at WSIS
1 in Geneva, December 2003 by Prof Swaminathan.

Frontieres (Open Knowledge Network, OKN) voudrait vous inviter à
assister à la session suivante:  

l'expérience de Savoirs sand Frontieres:  création contente locale de
bases en Afrique et Asie du sud 
Vendredi 18 novembre, 12,00 - 13,30, Chambre 6

Cette session seront un rapport de retour et éprouveront partager la
session pour Savoirs sans Frontieres (OKN), présentant nos activités
et apprenant, et entrée d'invitation de d'autres impliquées dans le
travail semblable.  La session inclura des présentations des projets
d'associé d'OKN et offrira un espace pour partager des idées sur la
production et la diffusion contente locale, la technologie et les
médias appropriés pour information partageant à l'étude, les
questions de genre, les droites de propriété intellectuelle, le
sustainability de projet et les questions de langue.  

La nouvelle plateforme de logiciel ‘Open eNRICH’ sera démontrée, avec
pré-libèrent des versions disponibles pour les associés de
collaboration.
