1000 ....actually more. At the Vancouver ICANN meeting the Greek
diplomat mentioned a number of 3000!
Let's make a quick calculation:
1. Member States of the UN - 191 <http://www.un.org/Overview/
unmember.html>
let's say each country sends, on average, 2 officials - total : 382
2. International organizations & bodies
Let's say 20 organizations show up, and again, 2 officials from each
- total: 40
3. Business Sector
Let's say 20 companies and/or business lobby representatives show
up, and again, 2 officials from each - total: 40
4. NGOS
Let's say 40 people show up - total 40
Just this quick calculation yields - 500.
Add greek & EU officials and easily the number scales to 1000
So i'd say 1000 is perhaps too conservative a number. Number will
likely be min 1000, perhaps even upto 2000.
Doesn't make it easy to discuss things with so many people around...
that's for sure.
regards,
Robert
