  Hello

For information.

A few remarks :
This meeting is organized by ITU,
which also organized the WSIS first two phases.
The WSIS is going to be discussed in this meeting.
( se below agenda )
and yet, the Civil Society is obviously absent of this meeting and not
even invited.

For all practical purposes,
many diplomats ,even from european countries, are not going to be able
to afford to attend because the cost of Hotels are so high in Doha.

Participation to those meetings is a procedural issue
that the Civil Society must be able to raise with ITU,
and also concerning the ITU reform proposals.

World Telecommunication Development Conference
7 to 15 March 2006 (Doha, Qatar)
*
1,200 top-ranking delegates from government, the private sector,
international and regional organizations are expected to attend the
World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) to be held in
Doha, Qatar from 7 to 15 March 2006.

The purpose of the Conference is to agree on development priorities in
view of the high-level recognition of the Digital Divide between
developing and developed nations created by the rapid but uneven
expansion of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Another
objective of the Conference is to promote international cooperation and
partnerships that can sustain and strengthen telecommunication
infrastructure and institutions in developing countries.
