Diplo is pleased to announce a second training workshop in Internet Governance and ICT Policy, under the Capacity Development Programme for ACP countries.
The workshop is being held in Pretoria, South Africa, on 12-14 April 2011, in co-operation with NEPAD Agency. More information below.
High-level officials from regional and sub-regional institutions, particularly from Africa, are invited to register for the workshop. The deadline for applications is 25 March 2011.

Internet Governance and ICT Policy: Training Workshop

DiploFoundation is pleased to invite officials and professionals from the ACP (Africa-Caribbean-Pacific) Group of States to register for a training workshop on Internet Governance (IG) issues and information and communication technology (ICT) policies in national, regional and international processes.
This training workshop will give participants an overview of the multidisciplinary field of IG (including technical, legal, economic, socio-cultural, and developmental aspects), explain interplay among international, regional and national IG and ICT policy processes, and provide the understanding of the ICT policy planning and implementation. This is an opportunity for officials and professionals from regional and sub-regional institutions of ACP countries to strengthen their overall understanding of IG and to develop diplomatic approach of their country and institution in the IG process, as well as to build their skills with policy planning and implementation.
Registration is open to all stakeholders from ACP (Africa-Caribbean-Pacific) countries. The workshop is limited to 25 participants. Accommodation, meals, and local transportation will be provided for selected international participants. International travel costs must be covered by participants or by their sending institutions.
To apply, please send an e-mail to acpinfo at diplomacy.edu before 25 March 2011 with:
1) subject: “Application for the IG and ICT Policy Training Workshop in Pretoria”;
2) body: applicant’s full name, country of residence and citizenship, institution and position;
3) attachment: a letter of support from applicant’s institution confirming that the participant or his/her home institution is responsible for the travel costs.
This workshop is a sponsored event within a series of planned activities under the Capacity Development in ICT Policy and Internet Governance for Africa – Caribbean – Pacific (ACP) programme. This programme is led by DiploFoundation in conjunction with seven ACP partner institutions and is supported by the European Commission and Secretariat of the ACP Group of States.
