If what Nnenna cites here could remain true forever

"the Internet cannot be governed effectively by any one organization
or set of interests"

then there is certainly no need for WGIG to get involved into issues
like privacy, copyright, intellectual property, freedom of
information, cybercrime, etc.

However, every second proposal on Internet regulation these days is
mentioning exactly these issues to justify the need for more
_centralized_ regulation
