[WSIS CS-Plenary] Re: [WSIS-CT] Desde LAC / from LAC

Hi Olinca,

I am sorry to read this email from you, although I am not particularly 
surprised given the many conflicting views among groups active in the 
region.  In my view, our goal as civil society is build as much 
consensus and cooperation as possible, without diluting our voice or 
masking our diversity. For some regions and caucuses, strong consensus 
positions are still possible, but for others the caucuses may only 
serve as meeting points for different initiatives to report back to 
each other.

The LAC caucus exemplifies for me the need for like-minded groupings of 
civil society to be able to work effectively within our structures, 
even if they do not purport to represent all the views of groups from a 
particular region or within a particular family.  This is how civil 
society has worked within other processes, such as the UN Commission on 
Human Rights, Porto Alegre, and other UN conferences.

I wish you good luck and success in your work.

Estoy apesadumbrado de leer este email de usted, aunque no estoy 
sorprendido particularmente dado las muchas visiónes que están en 
conflicto entre los grupos activos en la región. En mi opinión, nuestra 
meta como sociedad civil es estructura tanto consenso y cooperación 
como sea posible, sin diluir nuestra voz o enmascarar nuestra 
diversidad. Para algunas regiones y caucuses, las posiciones fuertes 
del consenso siguen siendo posibles, pero para otros los caucuses 
pueden servir solamente como puntos de la reunión para diversas 
iniciativas al informe de nuevo a uno a.

El caucus de la LAC ejemplifica para mí la necesidad de agrupaciones 
semejantes de la sociedad civil de poder trabajar con eficacia dentro 
de nuestras estructuras, incluso si no pretenden representar todas las 
opiniones grupos de una región particular o dentro de una familia 
particular. Éste es cómo la sociedad civil ha trabajado dentro de otros 
procesos, tales como la Comisión de la O.N.U en derechos humanos, Porto 
Alegre, y otras conferencias de la O.N.U.

Je suis désolé de lire cet email de vous, bien que je ne sois pas en 
particulier étonné donné les nombreux avis contradictoires parmi des 
groupes actifs dans la région. Dans ma vue, notre but en tant que 
société civile est construction autant consensus et coopération comme 
possible, sans diluer notre voix ou masquer notre diversité. À quelques 
régions et comités, les positions fortes de consensus sont encore 
possibles, mais pour d'autres les comités peuvent seulement servir de 
points de réunion à différentes initiatives au rapport de nouveau à 
l'un l'autre.

Le comité de LAC exemplifie pour moi le besoin des groupes de 
"like-minded" de la société civile de pouvoir travailler efficacement 
dans nos structures, même si ils ne prétendent pas représenter toutes 
les vues des groupes d'une région particulière ou chez une famille 
particulière. C'est comment la société civile a travaillé dans d'autres 
processus, tels que la Commission de l'ONU sur les droits de l'homme, 
Porto Alegre, et d'autres conférences de l'ONU.
