As far as I know and from what has been said by others before, Markus
Kummer and Kofi Annan essentially followed the recommendations made by
the Internet Governance Caucus.

So while you are certainly right that they are ultimately responsible
for the selection, they apparently weren't the ones making it.

The alternative to prejudice would have been deliberate spreading of
obvious falsehoods and derogatory statements with the goal of smearing
and discrediting others.

I was merely giving you the benefit of the doubt.
